CAVES AND SIGHTS OF BUDAPESTprice from 310 €
Hungary - Family holiday - Culture - Original trips - 6 days

Budapest has over 200 natural caves, due to the high level of geothermic activity in the region. The caves were formed by thermal waters during millions of years. 4 caves are open to the public: the Pálvölgyi Dripstone Cave, the Szemlőhegy Cave, the Castle Cave and the Buda Castle Labyrinth. All four are hydrothermal caves, resulting in many unexpected passageways and beautiful natural formations.
Self guided tour.

Program
Day 1 Arrival in Budapest
Upon arrival at Budapest airport you’ll be transferred to your hotel. Depending on arrival time during the day you might even have time for a short walk.

Day 2 Budapest Sightseeing + Castle Cave
We invite you a „hop-on hop-off” city tour: during the sightseeing you can stop and stay wherever you wish during the bus tour. One stop can be right in th Buda castle: the Castle Cave.

Day 3 Pálvölgyi Cave
The Pálvölgyi Dripstone Cave is awaiting you today. We provide entry and Budapest transport tickets. Optional for the afternoon: bath entry (Széchenyi, Gellért or similar) and dinner.

Day 4 Szemlőhegy Cave
Besides visiting the cave a walk in the Buda Hills is also memorable: Children’s Raiway, Rack railway, chairlift at János-hegy – just some program ideas. You’ll forget you are in a 2 million metropol.

Day 5 Hungarian Natural History Museum
A museum needn’t be boring ! This museum is definitely not that way. It offers traditional and interactive exhibitions e.g.”Man and Nature in Hungary” (permanent) and the „Birds of the Carpathian Basin” (temporary). Don’t miss it !

Day 6 End of the trip
Your taxi takes you to the airport. We hope you bring along nice memories of the caves of Budapest.
