The heart of your stay is the capital of horse Lippizan, Szilvásvárad. From here you will leave to the lake of Lillafüred and its castle from the Belle Epoque. You will cross twice Bükk plateau before descending to Lake Tisza which is part of the Puszta, the Great Plain. You will then discover Eger famous for its red wine named "Taurus Blood" and its thermal waters.
Day 1 From Budapest to Szilvásvárad We meet in the trainstation of Keleti in Budapest (we can organise a transfer from the airport) in the early afternoon. You leave by train to Eger, where you'll be transferred to Szilvasvarad. Szilvasvarad is a dream location for mountain biking on trails that allow you access to the heart of Bükk. Dinner and night in a Panzió (family hotel) in Szilvásvárad.
Day 2 From Szilvásvárad to Lillafüred Today you jump on your mountain bikes and you reach the massif of the Bükk. On your way you certainly come across deer and sheep known for their abundance in this region with the largest specimens in the world. Your overnight of the evening is planned in the magical city Lillafüred, located in a wooded valley where two rivers flow into a lake at the foot of a castle. You can see many waterfalls and visit the caves which galleries are several hundred meters long and are formed by impressive stalactites. Dinner and overnight in this enchanting landscape. Day 3 From Lillafüred to Szilvásvárad After a hearty Hungarian breakfast, you will leave towards Szilvásvárad. You will use some alternative routes of the previous day’s trip which offer magnificent views over the region. You can stop to picnic in a natural environment and an exceptional calmness. You will bike all day through one of the regions of Hungary where nature is best preserved.

Day 4 From Szilvásvárad to Mezőkövesd Your route takes the direction of the Natural Park Hortobagy through vineyards and villages in the hinterland of Eger. The vineyards you cross produce many delicious wines including the famous Egri Bikaver (bull's blood), which is the specialty of the region. Then you cross the charming city of Bogács, famous for its splendid baths before reaching the town of Mezőkövesd where you spend the night.

Day 5 From Mezőkövesd to Tiszafüred going around Lake Tisza Today you bike along Lake Tisza, which is part of a major bird sanctuary with countless species of birds, some of which only exist in Hungary. You'll make the tour of the lake very popular with Hungarian fishermen. Large beaches are reserved for bathing in a very pleasant and refreshing water. This day you will discover all the facets of this lake on a long but very easy day. Dinner and overnight in a panzio on theLake Tisza.

Day 6 From Lake Tisza to Eger In the morning you leave in the direction of Eger, one of the most beautiful baroque cities of Hungary. You will cross again delightful villages and large tracts of cropland where the colors and smells will delight you.

Day 7 From Eger to Szilvásvárad This day is not the most relaxing. The beauty of the surrounding countryside, however will help you enjoy the journey. You cross the Bükk beautiful limestone region where the waters have dug many deep underground. You finally reach Szilvásvárad where you finish your journey with the mountain bike.

Day 8 From Szilvásvárad to Budapest After breakfast, you will leave by bus or train to Budapest where your stay ends.
